Overview

Grado supports two grading approaches:

  • Component-level grading — where performance is recorded per assessment category through the Grade Book, and

  • Term-level grading — where teachers enter final grades directly through the Grade Sheet.

Each school decides which approach to use based on its grading policy or curriculum design.


Grado adapts to either setup, ensuring that grades are recorded, computed, and submitted consistently across all subjects.


Understanding Grade Components, Grade Book, and Grade Sheet

Grade Components

Grade Components are the weighted criteria used to compute a student’s grade within a subject. They define how learning performance is measured and how much each category contributes to the final grade.

 

In Grado, Grade Components support flexible grading frameworks:

  • DepEd public schools typically follow the standard components Written Work (WW), Performance Task (PT), and Quarterly Assessment (QA).

  • Private or progressive schools may design topic- or skill-based components tailored to their own curriculum. 

🧩 Example – Grade 3 Mathematics (Term 2):

Teachers record and evaluate these components through the Grade Book, where individual assessment results are computed and transmuted into equivalent scores.


These results then appear in the Grade Sheet as the final grades for each grading period.


Grade Book

The Grade Book is a detailed grading workspace used by teachers to record student scores per Grade Component.


It automatically applies weights and transmutation rules to compute each student’s overall grade.

 

Teachers can add and manage assessments under each component—for example, WW1, PT1, or QA.


Grado calculates averages and displays the final transmuted grade in real time.

🧩 Example:
A Grade 3 Math teacher records all assessments for Written Work, Performance Task, and Quarterly Assessment.
Grado computes the weighted totals and generates the final grade for submission.


Grade Sheet

The Grade Sheet summarizes results from the Grade Book or serves as the direct input form for subjects without components.


It displays final or transmuted grades per grading period and is used for submission and reporting.

 

If Grades Approval is enabled, submitted grades go through the approval workflow.


If it’s disabled, only Change Grade Requests require approval.

 

The Grade Sheet also provides the data for computing:

  • General Average (GA)

  • General Weighted Average (GWA)

  • Grade Point Average (GPA)

  • Cumulative GPA (CGPA)

The specific metric depends on the school’s grading policy.


Submitting Grades in Grado

Once all grades are complete, teachers submit them through either the Grade Book or Grade Sheet, depending on the grading approach used by the school.

 

Grades remain editable until submission is finalized or locked by the Registrar.
