Overview

Certain subject settings act as tags or flags that determine how grades appear on report cards and progress reports. When these are applied, the report card generator automatically places the subject’s grade under a specialized section instead of the general academic list or grades table.

Subject Tags

Subject tags flag a subject so its grade is grouped correctly on report cards for Grade School (GS), Junior High School (JHS), and Senior High School (SHS) students.

Settings Description & Purpose Applicable Levels Requirements
Is Behavior Subject

Used for progress and final reports. The subject grade is displayed as Deportment.

GS, HS

If the Behavior code field is blank, the Parent subject must be set.

Is Club Subject

Used in progress and final reports. The subject grade is displayed as a Club Grade.

GS, HS

Conflicts with "Is Co-curricular Subject"; a subject cannot be both.

Is Co-curricular Subject

Used in HS progress reports. Displays the grade in a separate Co-Curriculars table.

HS

Conflicts with "Is Club Subject"; a subject cannot be both.

Parent subject

Links a subject (often deportment) to a main “parent” subject. On the report card, this makes the linked grade appear under the parent subject’s section.

HS

For proper display, both the parent and child subjects must be assigned to the same student. Deportment subjects without a parent appear as standalone entries

The Purpose of Behavior Codes

The Behavior Code tells the report card generator how to classify a subject’s grade under the proper non-academic category.

When a subject is marked as a Behavior Subject, the Behavior Code determines which table or heading it appears under (e.g., Homeroom, Discipline, or Student Activities).

Behavior Code Description & Purpose Applicable Levels Requirements
homeroom

Displays the subject grade as homeroom deportment.

GS, HS

Subject must also be set as "Is Behavior Subject".

club

Displays the grade as club deportment.

HS

Subject must also be set as "Is Behavior Subject".

student_activities

Displays the grade as student activities deportment.

HS

Subject must also be set as "Is Behavior Subject".

discipline

Displays the subject grade as student discipline.

HS

Subject must also be set as "Is Behavior Subject".

🧩 Note:

  • Each deportment subject must have Is Behavior Subject checked.

  • If using a Parent Subject, make sure students are enrolled in both the parent and child subjects.

  • If a subject has no behavior code but has a parent subject, its grade is grouped under its parent subject's section.
